Season One

In Season One, Lemuel worked at the diner, where Juliana Crain met him. When The Marshal arrived in Canon City, Juliana and Joe discovers that Lem is the leader of the American Resistance, and finds him at his family's home. After discussing about the films and other situation that has happened, Lem, who is still overprotective of his family, threatened to kick Juliana out of his house, because of Juliana's interference with the Resistance and he does not know who she is, implying that Lem does not like strangers.

Season Two

After Juliana helped Joe escape on the boat, she was imprisoned by the Resistance for her actions and Lem, who is shocked for what Juliana did, demands an explanation. After Juliana gets locked in the trunk of the car. Gary Connell, the villainous leader of the Resistance, plans to kill her, despite Hawthorne Abendsen's orders to let her live. When Juliana escapes from the trunk of the car, the Kempeitai spots them and the gunfight ensues resulting Karen getting killed in the crossfire.

In the aftermath of gunfight with the Kempeitai, shocked and angry over getting Karen killed, Lem begins blaming Gary for Karen's death. Gary yells back, insisting that it is not his fault.

Appearance & Personality

Even though Lem is a nice, good person, who care for his family, he is extremely rude and paranoid, and has a huge temper. Lem is also overprotective and does not want some of the Resistance members getting killed. Getting some of the Resistance members killed would make him angry, just like what happened with Karen, whom Lem blamed Gary for her tragic death. During Season Two, Lem was first shocked and disliked what Juliana Crain did when she helped a Nazi agent, Joe Blake escape, but however, Hawthorne Abendsen manages to prove Juliana's innocence to him, and when Lem realizes that Gary does some ruthless, selfish actions, including Karen's death, that made him feel disgusted, he decides to trust and forgive Juliana on the orders of Abendsen. With Gary himself being executed by the Kempeitai, Lem also made a decision to join an alliance with Juliana, since he disliked Gary, even though they were allies.
