Hawthorne Abendsen, also known as "The Man in the High Castle", is a mysterious character believed to have created the series of films known as The Grasshopper Lies Heavy, which shows alternate histories. He is not a member of the American Resistance, but they assist him as couriers for the films and provide him protection.

Biography

Early Life

Hawthorne Abendsen was born Abe Hawkes. During World War II, he joined the Army Pictorial Service division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps and produced films of the battles in the Pacific. When the United States surrendered to the Greater Nazi Reich and Japanese Empire, Hawkes changed his name to Hawthorne Abendsen and settled in the Neutral Zone with his wife, Caroline.
