Tagomi finds himself in front of a house in the 'other' place. His long-dead wife answers the door, apologizes, and then leaves for work. Inside he finds food left for him as wells as divorce papers awaiting his signature while the news on the television talks about the Cuban missile crisis. Tagomi inspects a US dollar.

Juliana meets George Dixon in person. She warns him of the contents of the film she saw back in San Francisco and about what the Man in the High Castle had told her. He, in turn, informs her that he's struck a deal to save her from the rebellion; John Smith's life for hers.

Joe travels with his father, Reichsminister Martin Heusmann, to a long-abandoned maternity hospital and learns that he was Lebensborn. His father alleges that his mother kidnapped him and went to America before the war, thus justifying his absence from Joe's early life. Angry at the thought of his mother having lied to him, Joe refuses to believe him and storms off.
